Testicular Tissue Freezing

Testicular tissue freezing is an experimental technique but may be an option for young (as young as 13 years old) boys wishing to preserve their fertility before undergoing cancer treatment. A small piece of tissue is taken from a testicle then frozen and stored.

There have been no births reported following testicular tissue freezing.

In the future researchers may be able to produce sperm from these cells in the laboratory.
