Dr. Konstantinos E. Kostaras


Dr. Konstantinos E. Kostaras is a member of the board of Directors of Institute of life and a founding member of the company.

Dr Konstantinos E. Kostaras has been practicing Obstetrics & Gynecology for more than twenty years in one of the largest private hospitals in Europe, namely the IASO General Maternity and Gynecology Clinic (Athens, Greece). He is one of the founding members of the “Institute of Life – IVF Center” and he is also a member of the board of directors of the company.

He has graduated from the medical faculty of the University of Bologna(Italy), with honours. Following completion of his specialty training in Obstetrics & Gynaecology (Athens), he received further training in Benign Laparoscopy at Royal Free Hospital of London (Visiting Clinical Fellow).


In 1996 he started working at the IASO IVF clinic,as gynecologist in charge and has, thus,  gained particular experience and in depth knowledge in the IVF field.


In 2005 Dr Kostaras also gained his PhD from the medical school of Athens (with honours), having studied endocrine pathologies during gestation.


He has been a registered member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) as well as of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE), hence keeping his knowledge and skills up-to-date and according to the highest international standards.


In 2015 Dr Kostaras along with a group of distinguished IVF specialists founded the “Institute of Life – IASO IVF center”, a state-of-the-art IVF unit, aiming to deliver high quality, patient-centered services and treatments to infertile couples or women, at an international basis.

The  outcomes achieved from the beginning  of our unit’s operation until today exceed the international standards.


At the same time, the team of founders has also been paving the way for international collaborations with regard to the development and the delivery of ground-breaking research projects aiming towards the improvement of existing clinical practice .
