For best results, certain tests are necessary before the IVF process can begin

Necessary tests

HIV I/II, HBsAg (Australian antigen), Anti HCV/total, RPR for both partners.
In addition, a mammography / breast ultrasound is required for women over 35 years.

Recommended additional tests:

For women

IgG and IgM red-cell antibodies
CMV IgG and IgM
Toxoplasmosis IgG and IgM
TSH
Comprehensive endocervical culture
Hemoglobin electrophoresis / Complete blood count / Iron
Ferritin / Sickle-cell test
Blood type – Rhesus

For men

CMV IgG and IgM
Semen treatment and culture
Hemoglobin electrophoresis / Complete blood count / Iron
Ferritin / Sickle-cell test
Blood type – Rhesus
Cystic fibrosis / Blood karyotype
