Argyriou Anastasios, MSc, PhD

Senior Clinical Embryologist

Dr. Anastasios Argyriou was born in Athens on 11 July 1960 and counts 36 years of research and professional experience in the fields of Reproductive Biology and Physiology, Clinical Andrology, Clinical Embryology and IVF.

Dr. Anastasios Argyriou has conducted extensive research and has published numerous papers and articles in renowned Greek and international scientific journals, while he has presented posters and given lectures at Greek and international scientific conferences. He specializes in IVF and Clinical Embryology, and has participated in establishing, running and managing many assisted reproduction units in Greece and abroad (over 8,000 IVF cycles).

Dr. Anastasios Argyriou graduated from the Faculty of Biology, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, in 1984. He obtained an MA in Developmental Endocrinology in Reproduction (DEA, University of Caen, France) in 1985 and a Diploma in Andrology (Paris XI University, France) in 1986. In the same year, he also completed his doctoral thesis (PhD in Reproductive Physiology, Paris VI University, France).

From 1991 to date, he has worked as Senior Clinical Embryologist in the following IVF Units:

Dr. Anastasios Argyriou is a member of Greek and international scientific associations, including founding member and former President of the Hellenic Society of Clinical Embryologists, member of the Hellenic Society of Andrology, member of the Hellenic Society of Biology Studies and certified member of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE). He also served as an ordinary member during the first office terms of the Greek National Authority of Assisted Reproduction (2005-2010).

Dr. Anastasios Argyriou is also the author of the book Assisted Reproduction – Routes towards the Dream, Vita Publications.
